Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser star in the Yellowstone spin-off.
Roses are red, violets are blue — and Dutton Ranch will return for Season 2.
That last bit of totally unsurprising information was confirmed Wednesday by Paramount+. The streamer has scored humongous ratings success with the latest Yellowstone spin-off, which features Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising their Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler characters from the mothership series.
“Dutton Ranch has resonated with audiences in a powerful way,” said Matt Thunell, president of Paramount Television Studios, “building on the legacy of beloved characters while establishing its own identity. Thank you to our partners at Paramount+ and 101 Studios for a phenomenal first season. We look forward to bringing fans more stories from these unforgettable characters in Season 2.”
The Taylor Sheridan-produced drama quickly established itself as a smash-hit by amassing 12.9 million viewers globally in the seven days following its premiere, making it the biggest original series launch in Paramount+ history.
Dutton Ranch also delivered 2.9 million total viewers during its two-episode debut on Paramount Network on May 15, making it the biggest series premiere on cable since 2023. With 1.85 million viewers for the premiere telecast alone, the show also ranked as the No. 1 cable entertainment telecast among both adults 18-49 and total viewers.
“Beth and Rip are among the most iconic duos in television history,” said Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+, “and we are thrilled to bring a whole new world to life with Dutton Ranch for our subscribers around the world.
“We’re also incredibly grateful to our partners, including the teams at Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, for bringing this new series to life with such grit, heart and authenticity.”

The first season of Dutton Ranch focused on Beth, Rip, and Carter (Finn Little), their adopted son, as they struggled to forge a future for themselves on their own spread in South Texas, far away from Montana’s Yellowstone Ranch. But their optimistic plans were upended by unexpected events, and they eventually were driven to forge a partnership of convenience with the not-entirely-trustworthy Beulah Jackson (Annette Bening), owner of the ginormous and tradition-steeped 10-Petal Ranch.
Chief among their allies: Local veterinarian and Vietnam War vet Everett McKinney (Ed Harris), and ranch hands Azul Ramos (J.R. Villarreal) and Zachariah Moss (Marc Menchaca).
Other major supporting characters include Rob-Will Jackson (Jai Courtney), Beulah’s reckless (and sporadically violent) youngest son; Joaquin Jackson Reyes (Juan Pablo Raba), Beulah’s adopted eldest son, who serves as a “fixer” for the family; Oreana Lynn Jackson (Natalie Alyn Lynd), Rob-Will’s flirtatious daughter, who catches Carter’s eye; and Miguel (Berto Colón), Beulah’s diligent — and, when he has to be, lethal — bodyguard.
The final two Season 1 episodes of Dutton Ranch are slated to premiere June 26 and July 3.
