The Landman star sings the praises of the T-Mobile network.
Last time I checked, Billy Bob Thornton was in and around Fort Worth filming Season 2 episodes of Landman. Which, frankly, made me very happy, because I’m a big fan of the show. But now I see he’s found time to also appear in two commercials for T-Mobile’s T-Satellite service, which he says is capable of connecting people even in remote locations.
Just how remote? Well, here’s a demonstration in the first spot. To be honest, the thing that impressed me most here is, this may mark the first time in advertising history when a company admitted that, until just recently, their competitor offered a better deal.
The second spot drives home the point that, even in “the middle of nowhere,” you can find a T-Mobile signal. That could be a major selling point — because, I don’t know about you, but if I’m in the middle of nowhere, I would appreciate being able to call someone for help. Or at least driving directions.
Of course, if I could call Billy Bob right now, I’d tell him that I’m looking forward to talking with him again about Landman. Here’s our chat from last year, when he visited the C&I Studio to talk about Season 1.
