Billy Bob Thornton is back in the oil patch for Season 2 of the Taylor Sheridan-produced Paramount+ series.
Cameras have started rolling in the Lone Star State for the second season of Landman, the Taylor Sheridan-produced series starring Billy Bob Thornton as Texas oil company crisis manager Tommy Norris.
Paramount+ announced Wednesday the resumption of production for the drama, which co-stars Ali Larter as Angela Norris, Tommy’s mercurial ex-wife; Jacob Lofland as Cooper Norris, Tommy and Angela’s ambitious son; Michelle Randolph as Ainsley Norris, Cooper’s strong-willed and fun-loving sister; and Paulina Chávez as Ariana, the recently widowed mom who has developed a relationship with Cooper.
Also: Andy Garcia as Gallino, a drug cartel kingpin who’s seriously considering transitioning into a more legitimate business; Kayla Wallace as Rebecca Falcone, a hard-charging lawyer recently hired by M-Tex Oil, Tommy Norris’ employer; Colm Feore as Nathan, an oil company attorney and administrator who resides with Tommy and his extended family; country music artist Mark Collie as Sheriff Walt Joeberg, Tommy’s invaluable ally; and recent Oscar nominee Demi Moore as Cami Miller, Tommy’s longtime friend and — spoiler alert! — widow of M-Tex Oil owner Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), who died in the Season 1 finale.

Landman was co-created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, and based on Boomtown, the well-received 11-part Texas Monthly podcast that was written and hosted by Wallace. According to Paramount+, the show “is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern-day tale of fortune-seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires that are fueling a boom so big it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”
All ten Landman Season 1 episodes remain available for streaming on Paramount+. The episodes will also be available May 30 on DVD and Blu-Ray. No date for the Season 2 premiere has been announced yet. Watch this space for further developments.
