Cowboy types come together in Dubois, Wyoming, for a performance dedicated to the ranching community and the preservation of cowboy arts. Take a look inside The Outside Circle Show.
For the past decade, The Outside Circle Show has created space to honor the working American cowboy, making it affordable for those who live the lifestyle to be included. Each February, a collection of musicians, artists, and poets come together for a celebration at The Star Hotel in downtown Elko, Nevada.
The impact of The Outside Circle Show on the working cowboy community is profound, reaching desolate cow towns across the North American continent. The word ’family’ is often used by supporters to describe this group, which is not just about music and poetry, but also about rallying much-needed support for the Cowboy, especially when they find themselves down on their luck.
The Dubois Western Activities Association (DWAA), is proud and honored that the Outside Circle crew is willing to bring their talent and devoted following to breathe life into a dusty little cow town, celebrating the industry that has kept the valley alive for nearly a century.
Dubois, nestled in Wyoming’s Wind River Country, is a town steeped in ranching heritage, from the land itself to the stories passed down through generations. “The cowboy spirit is woven into the fabric of this place,” says Kris Ruth of the DWAA. “There’s a wealth of art, writing, music, and folklore born right here. Having a group like The Outside Circle come in and not just acknowledge it, but actively support it means the world to those of us that live here.”
The festivities begin on July 26th at The Rustic Pine Tavern, following the iconic Dubois Friday Night Rodeo. On June 27th, National Day of the Cowboy itself, the Outside Circle returns to the Rustic Pine Tavern in a community where legendary performers like Ian Tyson and Baxter Black came through decades prior.
Immerse yourself in the rich cowboy culture, celebrate the unwavering spirit of the West, and experience the artistic outpouring inspired by generations of hardworking ranchers. The Outside Circle Show promises an authentic taste of cowboy life, ensuring a weekend that will leave you forever connected to the enduring legacy of the American West.
