The Bluegrass Queen celebrates her birthday with the release of her new single “City of New Orleans.”
This is great week for one of our favorite people, Grammy-winning Bluegrass Queen Rhonda Vincent. On Thursday, she’s celebrating her birthday. On Friday, she’s releasing a captivating cut from her upcoming destination-themed album: Her delightful and distinctive take on “City of New Orleans,” the classic Steve Goodman country-folk song about a mixed-emotions journey from Chicago to New Orleans aboard the title passenger train.
We caught up with Vincent a few days ago to talk about her latest release — and to offer birthday greetings.
And just in case you haven’t heard it yet, here is Rhonda Vincent’s version of “Unchained Melody,” from her 2021 album Music is What I See.
