Luke Bryan, Post Malone, Lainey Wilson, and more are set to hit the stage for the 2024 CMA Awards. Get the full performance roster and nomination list.
From Post Malone to Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, and Morgan Wallen, country music’s biggest stars will hit the red carpet for The 58th Annual CMA Awards at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on November 20 at 7 p.m. CT and airing on ABC.
Hosted by Luke Bryan, Peyton Manning, and Lainey Wilson, the show will highlight the year that was in country music, from viral songs to breakout artists, chart-topping albums, and more. Outside of the awards themselves, this will be most notable during a variety of collaborations and other performances including a show-starting dust up between Post Malone and Chris Stapleton (likely to play their song “California Sober” from F-1 Trillion) and Brooks & Dunn ft. Jelly Roll, presumably to perform “Believe” from the duo’s Reboot II.
Other performances we can’t wait for include:
Dierks Bentley ft. Molly Tuttle, Sierra Hull, and Bronwyn Keith-Hynes: Three-time CMA Award winner Dierks Bentley will flex his bluegrass muscles alongside three of the genre’s premiere women pickers — Molly Tuttle (guitar), Sierra Hull (mandolin), and Bronwyn Keith-Hynes (fiddle).
Thomas Rhett and Teddy Swims: After first joining the R&B singer on his 2020 song “Broke,” Thomas Rhett and Teddy Swims will take the stage together to perform their newest collaboration, “Somethin’ ’Bout A Woman.”
Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan: Ballerini and Noah Kahan — one of the year’s many stars to cross over into country — will team up to perform their duet “Cowboys Cry Too.”
Ella Langley and Riley Green: The two Alabama born singers provided two of the year’s most insatiable duets with “you look like you love me” and “Don’t Mind If I Do,” both of which are on the table when they again share the stage together here.
As for the awards themselves, Morgan Wallen leads the way with seven nominations, including the superstar’s third consecutive for Male Vocalist and Entertainer Of The Year. Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton follow with five apiece (including nominations for both in Single, Album, and Male Vocalist Of The Year). Next in line were Post Malone — arguably the biggest crossover success into country this year — and Lainey Wilson, who looks to continue her reign as Entertainer Of The Year.
Superstars Luke Combs, Kacey Musgraves, and Megan Moroney came in next at three nominations each on the backs of their albums Fathers & Sons, Deeper Well, and Lucky, respectively as well.
While familiar names litter the Awards’ top categories, it's refreshing to see newcomers like Zach Top — a Washington native whom many compare to an early Alan Jackson — and Alabama natives The Red Clay Strays earn recognition for their albums Cold Beer & Country Music and Made By These Moments with nomination nods for New Artist Of The Year and Vocal Group Of The Year. Speaking of newcomers, one of country music’s biggest successes this year has been Shaboozey and his viral hit “A Bar Song (Tipsy),” which also broke through with nominations for Single and New Artist Of The Year.
Aside from the regular yearly honors, the Country Music Association also plans to bestow American music icon George Strait with its Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. The honor will coincide with a star-studded tribute performance to the singer that will cap off his enshrinement alongside Nelson, Dolly Parton, Charley Pride, Loretta Lynn and others to receive the Award.
“There have been few other artists as authentically Texas and authentically country as George Strait, and country music fans all over the world have been better for it,” says Sarah Trahern, CMA Chief Executive Officer. “As a three-time CMA Entertainer of the Year and the most nominated artist of all time, he serves as an inspiration and icon to many of the great, new artists we know today. I am thrilled we are awarding him with this deserving honor next month.”
