Final episodes of the Paramount Network series are now filming in Montana.
Talk about great timing: On the sixth anniversary of the day Yellowstone premiered on Paramount Network — June 20, 2018 — Paramount has announced that the enormously popular neo-Western drama will return for its “final cycle” Nov. 10.
Internationally, Yellowstone will premiere on Paramount+ in Canada on Nov. 10, the U.K. on Nov. 11, and in Latin America, Brazil and France later in November.
The remaining Season 5 episodes currently are filming in Montana. And before you ask: No one has said anything yet about whether Kevin Costner will be back as paterfamilias John Dutton — owner, operator, and avid protector of the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States.
People Magazine indicated earlier this week that Costner — who’s currently busy promoting his epic Western Horizon: An American Saga — Chapter 1 (which opens June 28 in theaters) and his own brand of coffee — might return to the show if he approved of the final Season 5 scripts. “I’ve always felt that… It might be an interesting moment to come back and finish the mythology of this modern-day family," he says. “And if that happens, I would step into it if I agreed with how it was being done.”
Still, he told People, “In the very end, I couldn’t do any more for it than I had already done.”
We’re hoping that Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly (pictured above) and other cast members can pick up the slack if Costner won’t be around. Assuming, of course, they actually will be on hand for the finale. All we know for certain is, Forrie J. Smith will be there as ranch hand Lloyd Pierce. Watch this space for further developments.
