Joaquin Phoenix, Pedro Pascal and Emma Stone also star in the contemporary Western.
According to various online reports, the “final cycle” of Yellowstone may begin filming as early as May, with the concluding Season 5 episodes slated to air on Paramount Network sometime in November. Before the shooting starts, however, series star Luke Grimes will find gainful employment in another contemporary Western.
Eddington, the latest movie from writer-director Ari Aster (Hereditary, Midsommar), is set to kick off production this week, with Grimes working alongside such other notables as Joaquin Phoenix (Napoleon, Joker), Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian, Strange Way of Life), Emma Stone (Poor Things, La La Land), Austin Butler (Elvis, Dune: Part Two), Deirdre O’Connell (Outer Range), Michael Ward (The Book of Clarence), and Clifton Collins Jr. (Jockey).
Details about the plot currently are being kept under wraps, although The Hollywood Reporter claims Aster’s script “centers on a small-town New Mexico sheriff with lofty aspirations.” Last November, the World of Reel website posted this synopsis: “Eddington is about a couple (Lindsay and Marc) driving through New Mexico, on their way to Los Angeles, who run out of gas just outside of small town Eddington, New Mexico. Lindsay and Marc decide to enter the town for help. They are, at first, greeted very warmly, but, as nightfall comes, the picturesque setting soon turns into a nightmare.”
