Paying homage to the classic designs of Lucchese, the brand-new Lucchese x Chris Stapleton collection features boots to pass down for generations.
As if becoming this year’s Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year was not enough, country singer Chris Stapleton has pulled up his work boots and made his way into the design room of boot giant Lucchese. The heritage brand just launched its custom collection with the Grammy Award winner on June 21, culminating a five-year collaboration between the two powerhouses.
Fans of Stapleton may have spotted him wearing some Lucchese kickers on stage during one of his arena tours or on TV as he received an award for his latest album. Stapleton is quite the vintage fan and has several pairs of vintage Lucchese boots tucked in his closet. His love for classic vintage proved a great influence on the Chris Stapleton x Lucchese collection, with Stapleton referencing Lucchese’s extensive archives to revive and breathe new life into some of the boot brand’s iconic silhouettes, materials, and colors.
“Everything can be refined to an art,” Stapleton says, “and that’s what I love about Lucchese boots — they’ve taken boot making and refined it to an art.” The boot brand’s dedication to art can be seen in the care and meticulousness of the designs that call back to their roots.
The Original, the new collection’s headliner, is a prime example of vintage charm brought back to life — with a classic silhouette handcrafted from pure buffalo leather, creating a worn-in feeling while maintaining a sturdy structure and clean look. Old Friend, the collection’s celebration of cowboy grit, dons a Western silhouette shaped out with suede leather. Deemed a contribution to the “songwriters’ uniform” by the boot brand, Old Friend pays homage to some of Stapleton’s Western heroes, many of whom feel like old friends to him. San Antonio, the collection’s fancy boot is reminiscent of the vintage Lucchese boots that Stapleton has cherished for years. Handcrafted from high-quality goat leather in colorways that bring out the boot’s natural shine, San Antonio is Stapleton’s love letter to the value passed down through generations. “There’s not a lot of that in the world that’s handmade,” he says, “something that will last your life if you take care of it.”
In addition to inviting you to celebrate tradition and time-honored craftsmanship, Stapleton asks his fellow boot lovers to be a part of positive change. With every purchase of a pair of boots from his new collection, a portion of the proceeds will go to support Stapleton’s and wife Morgane’s charitable fund, Outlaw State of Kind. The charity benefits a variety of different causes that Stapleton believes in, including the American Indian College Fund, American Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, Children’s Cancer Association, and more.
The Lucchese x Stapleton collection of men’s boots is handmade deep in the heart of Texas and is available on Lucchese’s website and at local Lucchese Signature Stores.
