As the world comes together to help its neighbors, Montana Silversmiths is doing their part to make a difference.
We have heard the reports of waning supplies of medical necessities, and have watched as corporation turn their factories over to production of items our nation needs now. Montana Silversmiths has followed suit, utilizing the 3-D modeling technology behind their engraved buckles and jewelry to create masks for hospital personnel in need.
The idea was sparked by a neurosurgeon in the Billings, Montana community, Dr. Dusty Richardson. As their company website explains:
"His story and the response from others in the community allowed Montana Silversmiths to launch this production effort. The hope is that our story can help inspire even more businesses and individuals to step forward and do what they can to support our communities.
Montana Silversmiths is working to make the 3D masks for healthcare workers that are so urgently needed with its production capabilities. As a part of the community for 48 years, we take our responsibility to our community seriously. Montana Silversmiths has long been a leader in the Western market, and now are thrilled to be able to partner with those in our community to provide a vital need. Local partners, including Yellowstone Academy at YBGR, the Billings Clinic, and the Stillwater Mine have been tremendous in their support of our efforts."

In addition to their in-house efforts, Montana Silversmiths encourages anyone with a 3-D printer to get involved with the cause.
"We invite all hobbyists, dentists, schools, universities, anyone with 3D printers to start making these masks and delivering them to your local hospitals.

Masks require a filter that can be made cutting up a single mask into 6 pieces or by ordering custom filter patches (which exceed industry standards) from Shane at High Tech Filters at 800.785.6985. His business can produce as many as are needed."
Thank you to Montana Silversmiths for giving back to their community in a unique way!
