This beloved line of embroidered linens has been busy rolling out new designs featuring feathered fowl, desert blooms, and bright berries.
Coral & Tusk — a collection of linen décor and gifts embroidered with the narrative designs of artist Stephanie Housley — has become renowned for its fanciful depictions of woodland creatures and A-to-Z animals that seem to have jumped out of storybooks to play atop pillows and quilts. (Think Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox retold with sewing needle and thread.) Which may lead you to assume it's a children's line. And it is. But it's also so much more.
While Coral & Tusk does feature playthings and flags all too fitting for a nursery, its whimsical designs have been just as well-received by the young-at-heart adult — so much so that Housley, who cofounded the company with husband Chris Lacinak in 2007, eventually began to also apply her signature art to the likes of tea towels, table linens, and stationery. She then also started to expand her subject matter.
In 2016, Housley debuted an entirely new line of embroidered pillows and fabrics with geometric patterns better befit for a modern ranch house than the playroom. Since then, she's also added a desert collection abounding with colorful cactuses, a series of birds and feathers, a Christmas collection complete with embroidered ornaments and stockings, and, most recently, an assortment of fruit and bug splashed table linens perfect for a summer garden party. But our favorite new releases are the linen totes, coin purses, and gift bags given the typical Coral & Tusk treatment.
