A Fort Worth, Texas, distillery is pairing cocktails with gourmet doughnuts.
There are a fair share of food and drink pairing events touted by watering holes and grub houses. But the upcoming whiskey and doughnuts match-up hosted by Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co. and featuring selections from FunkyTown Donuts in Fort Worth, Texas, is a new one for us.
Part of the distillery’s Whiskey Wednesday series, this special evening event will pair three cocktails from Firestone & Robertson mixologist Jason Shelly with three FunkyTown gourmet doughnuts, Wednesday, March 27, at Whiskey Ranch. Blueberry Guava Donut With White Chocolate Crisp Pearls

Tiramisu Donut With TX Mascarpone and TX Chocolate Espresso Glaze
TX Chocolate Espresso Martini
The Texas Bluebonnet
2 ounces TX Whiskey
1 ounce cranberry juice
¾ ounce blueberry and lavender simple syrup (recipe follows)
¼ ounce rose water
Add ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake and serve over ice
Blueberry and Lavender Simple
1 cup water
1 cup blueberries
½ cup dried lavender flowers
Bring to boil while stirring, then immediately turn to simmer for 20 minutes.
Strain through fine mesh strainer while pressing down to extract all the color from berries.
