The Fort Worth-based Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co. served as the backdrop of our fall fashion shoot.
The new home of Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co. greets guests by way of a long driveway winding through a freshly mown lawn up to a red-roofed ranch house. The 112-acre property, aptly christened Whiskey Ranch, is the distillery's second outpost (and the site of our fall fashion shoot) and located on the grounds of the historic Glen Garden Golf Course in southwest Fort Worth. While the original location is nestled in the heart of Cowtown, this new spot comes equipped with views of the historic Western town and will enable the makers of the award-winning TX Whiskey and TX Bourbon to increase production and share its craft whiskeys with more folks.
F&R founders Leonard Firestone and Troy Robertson designed Whiskey Ranch with the classic pillars of Texas style in mind: rustic metals, reclaimed wood, and sliding barn doors aplenty — a sensibility to functional aesthetics that we at C&I approve wholeheartedly. Similar to the vanilla-brushed flavor of its signature dram, TX Whiskey, a sweet, fresh smell seems to permeate the entire ranch, which includes a 2,000-square-foot merchandise store, a bar and tasting room, an event space called The Oak Room, a bottling house, and — of course — a back porch, perfect for sipping.
