This may be the last rodeo for senior citizens who land in trouble while on an ill-fated outing.
Don’t look now, but some folks who thought they were out for a good time may be headed for the last roundup in Lasso, an indie-produced horror thriller that’s being sold with a blunt-force tagline: “One Hell of a Rodeo.” Described by executive producer Todd Myers as “Texas Chainsaw Massacre meets Cocoon” — with, apparently, a bit of The Most Dangerous Game tossed in for good measure — it’s scheduled to start streaming November 13 on iTunes and other platforms.
The official synopsis: “Kit (Lindsey Morgan) and Simon (Andrew Jacobs) are two young leaders of an Active Senior Tour group who go out on an adventure to a small-town Rodeo festival located deep in the woods. It’s a great experience for the group… until they try to leave. Simon and Kit must save themselves, and whatever seniors they can, from becoming victims of a deadly Rodeo Ritual. Along the way they join up with another unexpected group of victims, including Ennis (Sean Patrick Flanery), a one-armed cowboy; Rosheen (Heather Mignon), the Rodeo queen; and Trish (Skyler Cooper), a powerhouse female bull rider. Together the group must fight to survive the night from relentless bloodthirsty cowboys on the hunt for human livestock.”
The trailer should give a good idea of what you can expect from this wild ride.
