A Fort Worth, Texas, whiskey maker shares its Lone Star twist on an iconic cocktail.

Firestone & Robertson Distilling Company’s interpretation on a classic has hints of vanilla, chicory, and pecan. It’s sweet, nutty, and delicious. So grab yourself a bottle — we recommend one of the distillery’s TX Exotic Cap Series bottles (a collaboration with bootmaker M.L. Leddy’s) — and mix up the season’s newest cocktail.

Pecan Old Fashioned

2 ounces TX Blended Whiskey
½ ounce molasses vanilla syrup
3 dashes chicory and pecan bitters
Toasted pecan, for garnish
Orange peel, for garnish

Combine TX Whiskey, syrup, and bitters in a rocks glass over ice. Garnish with toasted pecan or orange peel.
