As the United States prepares to celebrate 250 years of freedom, Resistol is honoring the nation's milestone anniversary with one of the most exclusive releases in its history, the limited-edition 1776 Hat.
For generations, the cowboy hat has represented the independence, resilience and western heritage woven into the American story. Created in partnership with Clint Orms Engravers & Silversmiths, the Resistol 1776 Hat combines that Western legacy with patriotic symbolism in tribute to America's semiquincentennial celebration.
Crafted from 100% pure beaver belly, the felt features a custom 10-karat gold Betsy Ross-inspired flag concho adorns the side of the hat. Handcrafted by Clint Orms, the design features a single diamond set among the stars as a tribute to the nation's first flag. At the back, a matching 10-karat gold hatband slider holds 13 individually placed diamonds representing the original colonies. Inside, the hat liner features the Preamble to the U.S. Constitution, honoring the principles that shaped the nation.
The 1776 Hat was presented to President Donald Trump on March 13, 2026, during a historic visit to Washington, D.C., by the 2025 world champions of the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and Women's Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA). The White House recognition marked the first time since 1983 that rodeo's world champions had been formally honored in the nation's capital.
Resistol owner Dustin Noblitt presented the hat as a symbol of American patriotism, Western heritage and the values embodied by generations of cowboys and cowgirls.
"Resistol is proud to be a longtime partner of the PRCA and to take part in this historic recognition of rodeo's world champions," said Resistol President Devin Marcum. "As our nation approaches its 250th anniversary, the cowboy hat continues to represent the resilience, patriotism and Western values that define the sport and the industry."
As Resistol approaches its own centennial celebration in 2027, the Garland, Texas-based company continues to craft hats in Garland, that honor both the nation's heritage and the enduring spirit of the West, crafted for those who live it everyday.
