A new category recognizing Best Country has been added to the list of glittering prizes this year.
Nominations for the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards — also known as the VMAs — were announced Tuesday, along with news about a new competitive category: Best Country.
Winners in all categories will be announced during a star-studded special featuring live performances by multiple nominees airing at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT Sunday, Sept. 7, on CBS. The show also will be simulcast on MTV, and streamed on Paramount+ in the U.S.
