Did you miss these Yellowstone appearances by some of country’s favorite musicians?
Over its five seasons, Yellowstone has deployed a barrage of country musicians for its soundtrack, but did you know that many of those same artists have appeared in the hit drama on camera as well?
In celebration of the show’s return on Nov. 10, we’ve gathered up a list of the musicians — from Ryan Bingham to Lainey Wilson and Luke Grimes — who’ve appeared during scenes from it, and not just as background noise.
Ryan Bingham
Despite his subdued personality as the ranch hand Walker on Yellowstone, give former cover star Ryan Bingham a guitar and he’ll take over the room in a heartbeat. Since Season 1 of the show Taylor Sheridan has done just that, with 15 of Bingham’s songs (and counting) being featured thus far. Those cuts include everything from “Sunrise” to “Hallelujah,” the latter of which he performs on camera for Beth Dutton on Season 4 Episode 10.
Zach Bryan
Zach Bryan’s music has been on Yellowstone since Season 3, but the Oklahoman’s biggest moment on the show came during Season 5 Episode 7 when he and his band took on the role of county fair headliners as they performed his songs “Motorcycle Drive By,” “Quittin’ Time,” and “Summertime Blues.”
Kevin Costner
Regardless of his departure from the show to work on Horizon: An American Saga that has alienated longtime fans of the show, it's safe to say that Yellowstone would not and will not be the same moving forward without Kevin Costner. In addition to his stoic and spot-on acting, he’s also had several songs from his band, Modern West, featured on the show’s earlier seasons, like “The Killer” and “We Don’t Run.”

Luke Grimes
Although he’s one of the show’s most prominent characters, it wasn’t until the first half of Season 5’s finale for Yellowstone that Luke Grimes, who plays Kayce Dutton, had a song featured from his recently launched music career. The song, “No Horse To Ride,” can be found on 2023’s Pain Pills And Pews EP along with his self-titled debut album from this spring.

Isaac Hoskins
In a true “blink and you’ll miss it” moment, Denton-based singer Isaac Hoskins was the wide-eyed singer on stage at a Bozeman bar when Beth Dutton took a beer bottle to the head of someone flirting with her husband Rip during Season 5 Episode 3, kicking off a wild brawl that has since become one of the series’ most memorable scenes.
Pete Sands
After making several cameos beginning with the pilot for Yellowstone, Indigenous Utah-based musician Pete Sands went on to have his song, “Prayers,” featured during Season 2 Episode 5 in addition to the show’s co-creator, Taylor Sheridan, enlisting him to write several other compositions for the program.

Shane Smith & The Saints
While his songs first made an appearance during Season 4 of Yellowstone, Austin-based band Shane Smith & The Saints took it a step further in Season 5, kicking it off with three songs on camera — “Dance The Night Away,” “Alex,” and “Fire In The Ocean” — during Governor Dutton’s post-inauguration celebration on the ranch.
Whiskey Myers
From Yellowstone’s infancy, Palestine, Texas-based band Whiskey Myers has been a central part of its soundtrack, the height of which came during Season 1 Episode 4 when they could briefly be seen performing inside a Montana honky tonk.
Lainey Wilson
After dipping her toes into the Yellowstone waters with a handful of songs appearing in Seasons 2 – 4, covergirl Lainey Wilson took the plunge in Season 5, jumping in front of the camera in the role of Abby, an aspiring country musician who ends up falling for ranch worker Ryan. As a result, the latest season features Wilson’s music heavily, with the songs “Smell Like Smoke,” “New Friends,” “Hold My Halo” and “Watermelon Moonshine” all making appearances.
