All six seasons of the country music-flavored drama will start airing Sept. 30.
If you’ve been missing Nashville, the highly addictive TV drama about dreamers and schemers in Music City, take heart: AXS TV will begin showing all six seasons of the country music series on Sept. 30. Episodes will air Monday through Friday at 2 pm and 11 pm ET.
The series is a perfect fit for the channel, according to Greg Drebin, AXS TV’s Head of Content and Marketing. “With its unique blend of world-class storytelling and talent, with real-life music legends and musical performances, we are confident that Nashville will be a huge hit with our audience,” Drebin said in a prepared statement. “The addition of Nashville is another significant step in our strategy to enhance AXS TV for both viewers and advertisers.”
Originally presented on ABC and CMT, Nashville focuses on the dizzying highs and devastating lows of the highly competitive county music scene while following a group of artists as they struggle and strive to make their way to the top. The series stars Connie Britton as country queen Rayna Jaymes, an industry icon fighting to stay on top as a new generation of up-and-comers — led by the mercurial Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) — lights up the charts. Also featured prominently in the cast: C&I cover guy and reader favorite Charles Esten, who plays Deacon Claybourne, the career-stalled singer-songwriter who is Rayna’s former (and possibly future) lover.
The realism of the drama is enhanced by sporadic guest appearances by such country music superstars Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown Band, Luke Bryan, Kacey Musgraves, Thomas Rhett, and Trisha Yearwood, and pop/rock hitmakers like Steven Tyler, Elton John, Christina Aguilera, and Kelly Clarkson.
