The unisex perfume and candle out today—1992 (feat. ERNEST)—was created by Ranger Station to celebrate Ernest's new album Nashville, Tennessee.
It's easy to see how country singer-songwriter Ernest was able to recruit superstars such as Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, and Morgan Wallen to sing with him on his brand new album, Nashville, Tennessee. His songs, for one, are some of the most timeless and gorgeous to come out of Music City in a long time. And he's simply a born collaborator. The 32-year-old Nashville local has become just as famous in his songwriting and industry circles as those big names popping up on his new record.
Music is not the only thing Ernest is crowin' about these days, though. He's been inspired by the Nashville fragrance house Ranger Station (one of our favorites already) to put his name and his compelling throwback vibes behind a signature unisex perfume and candle.
Dubbed 1992 (feat. Ernest) for the year of his birth, the scent is described as a unisex fougere fragrance — think of the kind of aromatic scent you'd find in a barbershop, or one you'd spray on in hotter weather to feel clean and fresh.
Of course, Ernest and Ranger Station describe the fragrance much more lyrically: "1992 (feat. ERNEST) was designed to conjure up the feeling of Nashville in the summer of 1992, the year ERNEST was born. The sepia tone of a hot summer night lazing away on the front porch with a whiskey-and-coke in hand and the sounds of country music greats like Merle Haggard and Conway Twitty on the radio."
And the singer elaborated more in comments to C&I about the release of 1992, which is available starting May 15. "Partnering with Ranger Station on this scent and this candle just made a lot of sense, because I love candles and smelling good, and because it only heightens and continues what I’m doing in other parts of my creative life right now," he said.
And on the inherent idea of pairing the candle and his new album: "I just put out an album that is a vibe and sound all its own; I wanted to make something legal folks can burn too."
The releases also appeal to Ernest's commitment to ourreach: Ten percent of net proceeds of perfume sales will benefit Porter’s Call, a nonprofit that provides mental health resources to recording artists and their families.
Ernest is nominated for New Male Artist of the Year and Artist-Songwriter of the Year at this week's Academy of Country Music Awards. We're willing to place a bet on which cologne he'll be wearing to the ceremony.
