Actor and veteran Tom Selleck is set to speak at The Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma’s Celebration of Hope Gala.
Philanthropists, sponsors, and supporters are set to show up and show out for the Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma’s Celebration of Hope Gala. The event kicks off May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. Gearing up to speak at this charity event is none other than celebrated actor Tom Selleck.
Prior to finding himself a star of the big and small screens, the Crossfire Trail actor served in California Army National Guard from 1967 to 1973. There, his passion for philanthropy and service was fostered, and it flourished throughout his acting career. The star co-founded Character Counts! — an organization providing students with strategies and resources to help build character, social-emotional, and academic skills.
Tom Selleck is also heavily involved in other outreach organizations. He served as a national spokesman for the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, helping advocate for a new education center to be built on the National Mall.
Selleck’s interest in serving the community’s most vulnerable individuals fits perfectly into the mission of the Salvation Army. The Central Oklahoma’s Celebration of Hope Gala gathers funding for emergency shelter, disaster relief, food assistance, youth empowerment, and senior care for vulnerable communities.
In addition to enjoying the stately setting of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, sponsors who attend the Celebration of Hope Gala will have the opportunity to upgrade to a major-level sponsor VIP experience, including an opportunity to meet and mingle with Selleck.
Those interested in the experience should visit the Salvation Army of Central Oklahoma website for tickets.
