Red Steagall’s Cowboy Gathering brings folks together to celebrate Western heritage through reading, rodeoing, chuckwagon cooking, and more.
After 32 years, this beloved cowboy poetry event has morphed into a much larger gathering with this primary goal: celebrate the people who live on horseback to provide food for our tables and support the younger generation to do the same. This October, Red Steagall’s Cowboy Gathering brought folks from all over the country to the Fort Worth Stockyards for a celebration of Western heritage.

A cowboy gathering wouldn’t be complete without a ranch rodeo, in which working ranches send their best cowboys to compete in real-life day-to-day activities, such as maverick branding (PHOTOGRAPHY: Courtesy Click Thompson).
