Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese’s epic drama about the reign of terror directed at oil-rich Osage People in 1920s Oklahoma, scored in ten categories as nominations for the 96th Academy Awards were announced early Tuesday.
Best Actress nominee Lily Gladstone made Oscar history by being the first Native American woman ever nominated in an acting category. She was honored alongside co-star Robert De Niro, a Best Supporting Actor hopeful.
Other Killers of the Flower Moon nominations: Best Picture, Best Director (Martin Scorsese), Best Cinematography (Rodrigo Prieto), Best Costume Design (Jacqueline West), Best Original Score (Robbie Robertson), Best Production Design (Jack Fisk, Adam Willis), Best Editing (Thelma Schoonmaker), and Best Original Song (“Wahzhazhe — A Song for My People,” music and lyrics by Scott George).
The 96th Academy Awards will air live coast-to-coast from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood starting at 7 pm ET Sunday, March 10, on ABC.
