Move over charcuterie boards and make room for the butter board … or whatever spread you want.
2022 had many trends but one big food trend involved butter and a new way to snack. Immediately it had our attention. Although Charcuterie boards have dominated parties for the last few years, a new appetizer board has made its debut — the butter board.
The butter board is a new way to serve bread and butter with a stylish new twist. Plus, it’s made way for other snack experiences like the peanut butter board, the cream cheese board, the hummus board and more.
Here's how to make a butter board, it’s super simple.
- Find a wooden board or serving platter,
- Spread softened butter on it,
- Add some toppings to sweeten, spice or savor up your butter spread,
- Serve with sliced bread and assorted crackers.
It’s that easy. Like we said before, there are endless spreads to choose from when it comes to other forms of the butter board trend. Instead of butter, you can choose any other spreadable dip. See some of our favorite adaptations:
Nice and Nutty
Peanut Butter spread with apple slices, Oreos, cookies, and pretzels to scoop it up.
Everything But The Bagel (with bagels on the side)
Cream cheese with bagels and add your favorite bagel toppings like lox, onions, fruit, etc.
Mediterranean Munch

Other spreads we can’t wait to try: Nutella, cookie butter, buttercream icing, dulce de leche, feta, and goat cheese.
The sky is the limit with these spread boards, and we can’t wait to see how you adapt them to your gatherings.
