The rising country artist is riding high with the title cut from his upcoming album.
Country singer-songwriter David Adam Byrnes is one among the many country artists who began to achieve success and feel artistically fulfilled only after leaving Nashville and moving to the Lone Star State.
After spending an inordinate amount of time in Music City writing “bro country” tunes in an attempt to grab the brass ring and become “the next big ring,” he took the advice of none other than Aaron Watson and relocated to Texas in 2018. Since then, each single he has released has hit the No. 1 spot on the Texas Regional Radio Chart, making Byrnes the only artist to ever accomplish such a feat in the chart’s 18-year history. He recently celebrated hitting No. 1 a seventh time with “One Honky Tonk Town.” And he says there’s more where that came from.
“I had to get back to me,” Byrnes explains. “Had to get back to why I love country music. I’m so much happier doing the music I truly love, and when you find yourself in music, people seem to take notice.”
A lot of folks seem to be noticing Byrnes these days. He has 10 million total streams, over 100,000 social media followers, and a double win at the 2022 Arkansas Country Music Awards as Entertainer of the Year and Male Vocalist of the Year to his credit. Wide Open Country named him an “Artist To Watch” in 2021. And, indeed, people aren’t just watching — they’re listening.
On Sept. 30, Byrnes and Reviver Entertainment Group will release his new album, Keep Up With a Cowgirl, which he co-produced with Bart Busch. Durango Boots partnered with Byrnes on the music video for the title cut, which showcases Team Durango professional female athletes in action: Stevi Hillman (barrel racer), Jordon Briggs (barrel racer), Lisa Lockhart (barrel racer) and Kelsie Domer (breakaway roper).
“It’s been a pleasure working with David Adam Byrnes as one of Durango Boots’ country music ambassadors,” says Durango Boots marketing manager Erin DeLong, “especially on his new music video ‘Keep Up With a Cowgirl.’ Spotlighting the strong, independent women in the western industry has been a focal point for the Durango brand — and David’s music video does just that.”
