We're premiering the new clip for Jenna Paulette's lovelorn ballad "El Paso," shot in its namesake Texas city using one uninterrupted take.
In her new music video premiering today for C&I readers, country singer Jenna Paulette creates the most beautiful kind of moving postcard. With a gorgeous El Paso landscape behind her, Paulette stares straight at the camera and delivers her brand new ballad—named "El Paso," not so coincidentally—with just the right amount of dramatic effect.
"El Paso" is about missing someone—specifically, a someone who devotes most of his time to roping, riding, and ranching. In the song, Paulette croons about the sadness she feels when she's away from her cowboy:
You got both feet on the ground
I’m on the moon up so high
Shining down
On a different town
Just dreaming as big as the Texas sky
But now I’m missing home
While I’m out here on the road
Ooh, yeah
You’ve got a way with that lasso
Pulling me back to El Paso
"El Paso" is Paulette's first single this year, with more new music coming soon. The subject matter is certainly familiar to the artist, as she spent plenty of time working on her family's Oklahoma ranch. But these days she's riding what Bon Jovi famously called "steel horses" from concert to concert. She's enjoying newfound buzz after being named to 2022's CMT Next Women of Country class, and she's headed to Nashville this weekend for the BMI CMA Fest Block Party.
Country fans will be seeing a lot more of Paulette in months and years to come. Get familiar now if you haven't: Press play on the new video above. It'll captivate you, and chances are it'll make whatever fella she's singing to forget about his fence-mending for a while.
