The singer-songwriter debuts the new track “Blue Jeans.”
The song: “Blue Jeans” is the latest track off of Texas-born, Nashville-based Jenna Paulette’s upcoming EP, Modern Cowgirl: Volume 1, available September 20.
About the artist: Paulette comes by her “New West” balance of modern and traditional country honestly. Her mom’s side is rooted in ranching, her dad’s in big-city sales. Growing up on the edges of metropolitan Dallas, she got her hands in the red dirt working “boy” jobs her granddad gave her on the ranch. You get that old-new hybrid in her music, which she describes as having “an undertone of pop and an overtone of cowgirl,” citing influences ranging from Leann Rimes and the Dixie Chicks to George Strait and Kenny Chesney. A CMT Discovery Artist, Paulette has also been added to Apple Music’s Breaking Country Playlist and Google Play’s Country’s New Crop Playlist.
About the song’s inspiration: “This one goes out to the cowboy that left his jeans at your place and you missed him just enough to try ’em on,” Paulette says.
Why we like it: A mix of pop beats, catchy lyrics, and good ol’ country pedal steel, “Blue Jeans” is a summer track to turn up and blast out your car windows.
