Marketing coordinator Sophia Jagella gives us a sneak peek of WESA’s January 2021 trade show in Dallas.
What better way to say goodbye to 2020 and hello to 2021 than with friends? Coming to Dallas for the first time, WESA is excited to roll out a safe and fun trade show for everyone involved. We asked WESA marketing coordinator Sophia Jagella to give us a little sneak peek.
How do you feel going into the first WESA Trade Show in Dallas?
WESA and its Board of Directors are looking forward to the first WESA trade show at the Dallas Market Center. We have been working diligently on WESA’s relocation from Colorado to Texas since 2018 and can’t wait to welcome our exhibitors and retailers to our new home.
WESA is “Where the Industry Meets,” and we are counting the days until we can reunite again.
The association is pleased to announce the WESA January 2021 trade show will not be canceled unless there is a government mandate in place. Both WESA members and retailers have signed up to attend the upcoming show and we are working hard to make sure the WESA Trade Show will be a safe and successful one for everyone involved.
The 14th floor is full of permanent western tenants and the 11th floor is almost sold out with 70,000 square-feet of temporary booths! Pre-registration is in full swing with almost 200 stores already registered! This includes many foreign and Rocky Mountain stores. WESA is excited to continuously provide a space of sourcing, learning, and networking for exhibitors and retailers of the equestrian industry. WESA is “Where the Industry Meets,” and we are counting the days until we can reunite again.
What trade show features buyers should know about?
WESA will host exciting events at the upcoming trade show. Starting on WESA’s pre-trade show day, January 13, WESA will present the Runway Café Fashion Event on the 14th floor of the WTC at 12 pm. This informal fashion show will offer buyers a sneak peek into the new season and serve for inspiration. It will conclude on Saturday, January 16.
January 14 is WESA’s official opening day, where we will celebrate the association’s relocation with members and retailers at the opening night kick-off Pparty. The DMC will hold a Western/ English fashion show and WESA will honor its award winners. At the end of the kick-off party, WESA will offer buyers a chance to win one of ten $500 trade show certificates. There will also be daily special events on WESA’s 11th or 14th floors in the afternoon! WESA additionally extends various complimentary buyer services to its retailers such as food vouchers, coat check vouchers, and free valet parking.

Going into 2021, how are markets changing to meet this “new normal”?
Safety first! Facemasks, sanitizing, and social distancing will be key for shows in 2021. WESA and the DMC have outlined several guidelines and rules that will help the attendees to stay safe and healthy. WESA has also provided retailers with facemasks and summarized COVID-19 updates in a press release.
