Our trip to WESA in January has me ready for all new footwear. Think cactus, metallics, and lots of color.
One of the best parts of attending this annual show in Denver is getting a sneak peek at what's to come in Western fashion throughout the year. For me, it's the boots that always have me anxious with anticipation. And when it came to the kicks this year, WESA did not disappoint. There were thigh-highs and lace-ups, booties and sandals with conchos and studs, in exotics and metallics. It was a boot-aholic's heaven. Footwear trends to look forward to this year: buckles (and lots of them), even more in gold, cactus, cheetah, and, of course, plenty of fringe.
Here's a look at what's next from some of our favorite bootmakers.
Liberty Black - Lots of ankle boots with lots of attitude (including the fringed shorty shown above).
Lucchese - Don't miss the new slip-on tennies in the bottom right corner!
Justin Brands - Highlights included the growing new Reba by Justin line, Tony Lama's high-end signature series, and the retro cacti designs of Nocona's new Miss Enid collection.
Junk Gypsy by Lane Boots - I particularly love their new installment of the Prickly Pear tall top boot in white and silver.
Miss Macie - This line also won the Best in Showroom award.
Anderson Bean and Macie Bean - these got my vote for best window displays!
