Chris Janson performs “Drunk Girl,” live at the Grand Ole Opry.
American country singer-songwriter Chris Janson started his professional career writing for stars like Tim McGraw and playing harmonica for Lee Brice. It wasn’t until 2015, after signing with Warner Bros. Records to release his first solo album. Buy Me a Boat — the title track reached No. 5 on Hot Country Songs and Country Airplay charts — that his career really took off.
Now, after two albums (Buy Me a Boat and his most recent album, Everybody), Janson is being recognized not only by his massive and growing fan base, but by his musical peers and inspirations.
Recently, the Missouri-born artist was invited by his good friend and one-time performing partner Keith Urban to be a member of the Grand Ole Opry. Janson, who has performed more than 100 times at the Ryman Auditorium since making his debut back in 2013 and who has become an Opry favorite for his engaging high-energy performances, is set for a spring induction into the elite group of stars.
In celebration of his achievement, this week’s Opry performance (below) showcases Janson’s performance of his newest single, “Drunk Girl.”
