Keith Urban and Chris Janson perform John Michael Montgomery’s classic song “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident)” live at the Grand Ole Opry.
Fresh off his highly successful album RIPCORD — which debuted at the top of the charts in the United States, Canada, and Australia and produced four No.1 hits — Keith Urban has paired his incredible guitar skills and voice with singer, songwriter, and harmonica aficionado Chris Janson for an incredible cover of the hit country song “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident).”
Written by Richard Fagan and Robb Royer and originally recorded by John Michael Montgomery, the song reached No.1 on the country charts in the United States and Canada in 1995 and generated massive buzz for its quick-paced, tongue-twisting lyrics.
Urban and Janson delivered an exhilarating cover live at the Grand Ole Opry. With Urban on vocals and guitar and Janson on vocals and harmonica, it’s a real-deal team-up we’d like to see more of.
Watch their foot-stomping, string-snapping performance of “Sold (The Grundy County Auction Incident).”
