Live at the Grand Ole Opry, Eric Church performs “Why Not Me,” written to honor Las Vegas shooting victims.
Just days before the devastating mass shooting in Las Vegas, country singer Eric Church headlined the Route 91 Harvest Festival. During a recent stop at the Grand Ole Opry, Church recalled his time performing at the event.
“This is my crowd. I’ve seen them all year. They’re mine,” Church said before talking about one particular fan, Sonny Melton, who lost his life.
Grieving and moved by his fans’ dedication, Church turned to writing, penning a song specifically for those who lost their lives.
