The star of Forsaken, 24, and our April 2016 cover makes his Grand Ole Opry debut.
The Grand Ole Opry is a world-renowned Nashville institution. And while it has its elite membership of frequent performers — a sought-after honor in the country music world — a variety of acts performs there from week to week. From up-and-coming musicians to some of the most influential artists of our time, the Opry honors country’s rich history and progressive present. This week, the Opry played host to a well-known actor whose passion for music came long before he hit the big and small screens.
Kiefer Sutherland has made a name in Hollywood with notable performances in his hit television show 24 and in classic films such as Stand By Me, A Few Good Men, The Lost Boys, and, of course, Young Guns. Now the multi-talented actor and recent C&I cover star is getting serious about another creative outlet: music. Sutherland’s debut country album, Down in a Hole, will be hitting stores on August 19, but thanks to the Grand Ole Opry, you don’t have to wait until Friday to hear some of his achingly honest tunes. Check out the video below of Sutherland’s recent Opry debut for a taste.
We’ll be sharing more of the Opry’s YouTube content from week to week, and you can keep tabs on all the latest and greatest performances here.
And be sure to catch Sutherland as an unlikely U.S. President in his new ABC political drama, Designated Survivor, premiering September 21. Here’s a trailer.
