Keep Memory Alive’s Summer Social and Rodeo

DESCRIPTION

Weekend of rodeo events and an evening with Emeril Lagasse to raise funds and awareness for brain disorders.

Tickets are on sale now for Keep Memory Alive's annual Summer Social and Rodeo at Shakespeare Ranch, a private Lake Tahoe estate in Glenbrook, Nevada, on Friday, July 26 and Saturday, July 27.

The weekend of Western-style fun and fundraising will feature a classic American rodeo, a gourmet dinner prepared by celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse and a private performance by Little River Band. Proceeds from the event support the work of Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health and its fight against neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's, Huntington's, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, ALS and more.

"Every year, I look forward to this family-friendly, fun-filled experience," said Camille Ruvo, Keep Memory Alive vice-chairwoman and co-founder. "From the rodeo, to the entertainment and premier food, it's a weekend excursion not to be missed while helping find a cure for brain disorders."

The rodeo will feature bull riding, ribbon roping, barrel racing, a Western-style barbecue and a silent auction with a variety of luxury gifts ranging from jewelry and travel packages to sports memorabilia. Little cowboy and cowgirl attendees will enjoy carnival games, face painting and a watermelon eating contest.

The festivities continue Saturday night with world-renowned restaurateur Emeril Lagasse taking over the kitchen to prepare an extraordinary dinner at Shakespeare Ranch, followed by Little River Band bringing down the barn with a memorable performance. Past headliners have included Robin Williams, Jay Leno, Lionel Richie, Kenny "Babyface" Edmonds, Kenny Loggins, Michael Bolton, Three Dog Night, and the band America.

Dating back to the early 1940s, the Glenbrook Rodeo was an annual highlight until it was discontinued in 1965. Keep Memory Alive founder and Chairman Larry Ruvo and his wife, Camille Ruvo, along with the McGill family, resurrected the tradition in 2000.
