Homer and Remington in Black and White

DESCRIPTION

Two of America’s most accomplished 19th-century artists, Winslow Homer and Frederic Remington, shared a background in illustration, which made them household names and taught them to communicate effectively in black and white. This exhibition of 27 artworks—including etchings, wood engravings, lithographs, oil on canvas, and watercolors (such as a print of Homer’s Eight Bells and Foraging and Remington’s Teaching a Mustang Pony to Pack Dead Game and Her Calf)—represents the variety of their work in black and white.
