The quintessential purveyor of woolen textiles makes its foray into window treatments with the new Pendleton by Sunbrella Collection for The Shade Store.
It was announced in February that Pendleton,The Shade Store, and Sunbrella had partnered together to introduce a series of window coverings inspired by the iconic Southwestern and Native American designs that Pendleton has championed over the last century and a half. The Pendleton by Sunbrella Collection for The Shade Store offers variations of the classic Zapotec, Diamond River Tonal, and Ombre Plaid patterns that the Oregon-based company makes in the United States from its mills in the Northwest.
“Sunbrella and Pendleton are rooted as brands in family heritage and a commitment to quality, which perfectly aligns with The Shade Store, so this collaboration was seamless,” Allen Gant III, Director of Outdoor Market for Sunbrella, said in a press release. In the same press release, Ian Gibbs, Co-Founder and Creative Director of The Shade Store, added, “We are thrilled to bring the rich heritage of Pendleton to the window treatment category with versatile new options our customers can layer into any interior décor.”
The collection can be found online and at all showrooms for The Shade Store throughout the country. Pendleton is a sixth-generation family-owned company that started crafting woolen products in 1863. Like all orders that come from Pendleton's woolen mills, every order from The Shade Store is handcrafted in the United States.
Check out our roundup of the beautiful, heritage-rich patterns from this state-of-the-art collection:
Zapotec
A blanket design inspired by the 2,000-year weaving history of the Zapotec people of Oaxaca, Mexico, with classic geometric designs and the elegant simplicity of traditional Zapotec blankets (shown in Terra, Sapphire, and Adobe).
Diamond River Tonal
Influenced by the American Southwest, Diamond River Tonal features large-scale, layered geometric patterns that mimic the fluid currents of a deep river (shown in Snow, Sand, Midnight, Indigo, and Azure).
Ombre Plaid
A classic aesthetic of Pendleton, Ombre Plaid updates traditional plaid with a softer gradient affect, reminiscent of morning mist in the mountains (shown in Linen, Indigo, Gray, and Coral).
