Pines Sautéed Mushrooms
Mushrooms have a reputation for being aphrodisiacs. Whether it’s true or not, what we do know for sure is that the enticing aroma of sautéed mushrooms will stimulate your appetite and eating them will satisfy it. Here’s how they fix them at The Pines Modern Steakhouse at the San Manuel Casino.
4 ounces portobello mushrooms
Olive oil, as needed
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 thyme sprig
4 ounces oyster mushrooms
½ ounce butter
1 tablespoon shallot, minced
1 teaspoons garlic, minced
1 teaspoon thyme, chopped
Coat portobellos with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Place on sheet pan with sprig of thyme and roast at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. Let cool and slice. Meanwhile tear oyster mushrooms into pieces. Sauté oyster mushrooms in a hot sauté pan with oil. Sear until brown and then flip. Add portobellos, butter, shallots, garlic, and chopped thyme. Sauté for 20 seconds. Turn off heat, plate, and serve.
