Sorrel Sky Gallery presents its 6th annual Workshop Series, starting January 2017 at its Durango, CO location. Featuring basketry, painting and photography, each artist will share their knowledge, their skill and their inspiration. Landscapes, Street Scenes and the Figure in the Landscape with Sharon Abshagen, March 17-19 - Weather permitting, the final day will be spent painting in plein air, incorporating newly-honed skills. This class is designed for beginners to intermediate.

Pine Needle Basket Weaving with Mimi Bonkowske, April 1&2 - This ancient art form uses the gifts that the earth provides to “make beautiful, wonderful and useful things.” This workshop includes supplies and an instruction book. This class is designed for beginners.

Building Confidence in Painting Landscapes with Stephen Day, April 7-9 - During this 3-day workshop students will paint at least 5 paintings, learning about color mixing, brushwork, drawing, edges and values. This class is designed for intermediate to advanced.

Elements of Landscape Painting with Peggy Immel, April 28-30 - This 3-day workshop will use field studies, photographs and sketches to develop studio landscape paintings. This class is open to artists of all ability levels.

Landscape Photography with Robert Turner, September 29-October 1 - This 3-day workshop will offer guidance on being in the right place at the right time and the use of low light for rich color and contrast control. This class is designed for beginner to advanced.
