A new era of leadership is dawning as the next generation steps in to take over the Diamond-McNabb Ranch Horse Sale.
In a world where people crave authenticity and meaningful experiences, the Diamond-McNabb Ranch Horse Sale, held at the Powderhorn Ranch just outside Douglas, Wyoming, stands as a shining example of legacy and true horsemanship. Now preparing for its 17th annual sale on June 7, the True family’s next generation is stepping into leadership, alongside long-time partner and co-namesake of the sale, Ken McNabb.
Hailey True Wortham, third-generation horsewoman of the True family and former student of Ken McNabb, now leads the horse program as Horse Program Manager at the Powderhorn Ranch. With McNabb’s guidance over the years and her deep connection to the ranch, Wortham is perfectly positioned to carry on the legacy that began with her grandfather, Diemer True.
“I’ve had the privilege of watching Hailey grow up in this program and develop into an outstanding horsewoman,” said McNabb. “It’s exciting to see her step into this leadership role and bring her passion and knowledge to the forefront of the sale. I couldn’t ask for a better partner to work with in helping to guide these horses and their future owners.”
The Diamond-McNabb Ranch Horse Sale was born from a partnership forged in 2006 when the True family invited McNabb to host a family clinic for Grandpa Diemer’s 60th birthday. From that moment on, a bond was formed between the McNabbs and the Trues, leading to the creation of a sale that has stood the test of time by offering ranch-raised horses with real-world, working ranch experience and honest training.
“Our focus has always been on producing horses that are not only versatile and well-trained but also ready to build lasting partnerships with their new owners,” said Wortham. “I’m honored to continue this tradition and work alongside Ken and the rest of our families, consignors, and volunteers to help people find the perfect fit.”
With Wortham now leading the horse program and McNabb continuing to provide his expertise in horsemanship and training, the two are working side by side to uphold the legacy of the Diamond-McNabb Ranch Horse Sale for its 17th year. Their shared dedication to quality horses and satisfied buyers ensures that this tradition will continue to thrive for years to come. As the next generation steps up, the future is bright for both the horses and the riders who seek them at Diamond-McNabb.
