Bill Pullman and DeWanda Wise also appear in the drama written and directed by Ned Crowley.
Guy Pearce, currently an Academy Award contender in the Supporting Actor category for his forceful performance in The Brutalist, stars in Killing Faith, a new western set to launch at film festivals later this year before a theatrical release.
Pearce, whose previous credits include Memento, L.A. Confidential, and Brimstone, will appear alongside Bill Pullman (Independence Day, The Ballad of Lefty Brown) and DeWanda Wise (Jurassic World Dominion) in the drama, which recently wrapped production in New Mexico.
Written and directed by Ned Crowley (Middle Man), it’s described as a “cinematic, genre-bending Western that delivers action and suspense against a plague-ridden landscape.” Pearce plays Dr. Bender, a faithless physician who agrees to escort an anguished mother (Wise) and her afflicted daughter on a journey across a treacherous desert. The mother is determined to reach a remote preacher-physician (Pullman) in the hope of finding a cure for her daughter’s mysterious illness.

Set for distribution by Shout! Studios, the same multi-platform media company that distributed Viggo Mortensen’s western The Dead Don’t Hurt last year, Killing Faith also features Raoul Trujillo (Blue Beetle), Jaime Neumann (21 Bridges), Jack Alcott (Dexter: New Blood), Joanna Cassidy (Blade Runner), and Emily Ford (Hold Your Breath).
Jordan Fields, Shout! Studios senior vice-president of acquisitions and originals, has high hopes and high praise Killing Faith: “Ned and his team have succeeded on all fronts: a sensational cast playing memorable characters; a provocative story that deftly weaves menace, heroism, wit and hope into history; and a stunning visual experience that does justice to the genre.
“You haven’t seen a Western like this.”
