Serratelli blends the finest fur with generations of artistry to finish the ultimate hat. The company will unveil its masterpiece at the 2024 NFR.
Just as the best stock are bred from the best bloodlines, the best cowboy hat begins with the finest fur. Serratelli Hat Company starts every hat by sourcing each component through multi-generational relationships with producers around the globe.
Dean Serratelli, fourth-generation owner of Serratelli Hat Company, has spent his life traveling the globe, seeking out the most exceptional fur to craft the cowboy hats Americans know and love today. When Dean finds the right producers, they immediately become part of a global marketplace through Serratelli Hat Company. He personally inspects and chooses the best materials for his family’s workshop, where each cowboy hat is designed and crafted by hand.

Since 1878, the Serratelli name has been synonymous with quality materials, passion, and tradition. In an homage to its legacy of sourcing the finest fur, the company has procured materials that are so rare, they are befitting of a hat with the name “The 1878.”
“The 1878 is the finest cowboy hat ever made. This hat is a testament to my family’s unwavering commitment to the American cowboy hat and a nod to my great-grandfather, Pio Serratelli, who entered the hat business in 1878,” said Dean.
During the 2024 National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, Serratelli Hat Company will unveil a new creation that is unlike any cowboy hat before it. A hat that honors the storied past of the company and blends timeless hat-making techniques with the finest materials available.
Made with a bespoke blend of 90% Silver Belly American Beaver (the silver fur located on the center underbelly of the beaver) and 10% Chinchilla, The 1878 will include a hand-stitched sweatband made of American Whitetail Deerskin, a custom American Beaver tail leather case, and a sterling silver buckle with 18KT gold detailing and a VS diamond.
“The 1878 is the first of its kind,” added Dean. “It is unmatched in its level of detail, precision and luxury — a collector’s item unlike any other.”
