The North Carolina-born country artist offers a heartfelt ode to “the men and women who aren’t in the spotlight.”
Just in time for Veterans Day, up-and-coming country artist Trey Calloway has released an acoustic version of “Forgotten Man,” a song that pays tribute to, among other folks, the men and women in uniform who should always be remembered.
“The way we introduce it when we do it live,” Calloway say, “is we basically say this is a song for the men and women who aren’t in the spotlight, who never get the awards, who never get on TV, who never appear on Shark Tank or on America Idol.
“We said ‘forgotten man’ because it sounded good when you sang it, but the song really is for all the military people who never get talked about, and all the farmers who never get talked about.
“You could say it’s my version of that song from the ’90 by Alabama, ‘40 Hour Week.’ It’s just the tip of the hat to all the working people out there.
