Brad Paisley, Blake Shelton, and Jason Aldean are among the country greats who will perform during the two-hour CMT special premiering Aug. 15.
Blake Shelton, Steve Wariner, Brad Paisley, Jamey Johnson, and Jason Aldean are among the superstars who’ll be praising and playing music by Alabama, one of the most enduringly popular country bands of all time, when the two-hour special CMT Giants: Alabama airs at 8 pm ET Thursday, Aug. 15 on CMT.
Little Big Town, Old Dominion, Pam Tillis & Lorrie Morgan, Riley Green, and Sam Hunt also will be on stage to perform some of Alabama’s greatest hits at this once-in-a-lifetime tribute event, which was taped last January during an invitation-only concert at Belmont University’s Fisher Center in Nashville.
But wait, there’s more: Evander Holyfield, Lionel Richie, Luke Bryan, Martina McBride, Vince Gill and other notables will appear both in-person and virtually to share personal stories about Alabama’s indelible impact on music. CMT Giants: Alabama also will feature rare photos, performance footage, and interviews from the vault, plus an all-new sit down with surviving Alabama members Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry as they reflect on their storied career. (Bandmate Jeff Cook passed away in 2022.)
Here’s the rundown of the singers and songs on tap:
Alabama – “Mountain Music,” “My Home’s in Alabama”
