Twisters stars Glen Powell (on the screen) and Thomas Rhett (on the soundtrack) praise Tecovas Western apparel as the new movie hits theaters.
The highly anticipated sequel to 1996’s iconic tornado-chasing film Twister, Twisters(with an “s”) hits theaters on July 19, along with its soundtrack, which is packed with songs recorded by country heavy-hitters. In all the buzz about the film, Tecovas seems to be the brand everyone is namedropping. Knowing the deep Western roots of both the movie and the brand, it’s not hard to see why.
Twisters throws audiences into an action-filled adventure in the heart of Oklahoma, pulling stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, Anthony Ramos, and Glen Powell into the eye of the storm. Powell, who plays charming but reckless social media storm chaser Tyler Owens, is the epitome of classic Western style, harking back to the Sooner style donned by Helen Hunt, Bill Paxton, and Jami Gertz in the original.
Powell, a Texas native, has been showing off his affinity for Western style while promoting the Lee Isaac Chung-directed Twisters. He showcased his Tecovas hat while accepting his induction into the Texas Film Hall of Fame in May of this year. He took to Instagram to thank his friends and supporters, including Texas director, producer, and screenwriter Richard Linklater, who presented him with the award. Powell concluded the post by saying, “Thank you Tecovas for supplying my emotional support army with slick hats for the occasion.”

Powell is not the only star associated with Twisters to give a shout-out to Tecovas recently. The film’s soundtrack is swirling with country stars name-checking their favorite Western brands.
