Jelly Roll and Ashley McBride will co-host the June 25 special.
What’s that, pardner? You say you forgot all about the June 6-9 CMA Fest in Nashville, and now it’s too late for you to rustle up cash for tickets? Well, don’t fret, cowboy: Once again, ABC will air a primetime special showcasing highlights from the country music celebration. Hosted by Jelly Roll and Ashley McBryde, the three-hour extravaganza — which will film throughout the 51st annual Music City event — premieres at 8 pm ET June 25 on the network, and will be available for streaming on Hulu the following day.
Dubbed “The Ultimate Country Music Fan Experience,” the CMA Fest began in 1972 as Fan Fair, which drew 5,000 fans to Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. Since then, the festival has become Music City’s signature country music happening, hosting tens of thousands of fans from all 50 states and 39 international countries. It’s a one-of-a-kind event, with hundreds of artists donating their time to sign autographs, pose for selfies — and perform in a variety of venues so proceeds can directly benefit high-quality music programs across the country through the CMA Foundation.
The ABC special CMA Fest is a production of the Country Music Association, executive produced and written by Robert Deaton and directed by Alan Carter. 2024 marks the 21st consecutive year CMA has produced a summer concert TV special.
