“My family values got me to where I am today,” Finis said. “Staying true to myself and upholding what I was taught is my very makeup. Those in the Western industry are loyal and respectful of one another. They work hard and have a ‘never give up’ attitude.”

One particular night, Finis’ late father, famed athlete and actor Dean Smith, brought he and Cavender’s together in a beautiful way at a shoot at the CF Ranch in West Texas. A livestock handler at the ranch looked very familiar to Finis, and it was discovered that he worked with his father. This handler described Finis’ father as his hero, and they shared stories and remembered him in a way that words can’t describe.
“We did a photo shoot in Alpine on the CF Ranch, a beautiful, vast location, and I finally got to meet Craig Carter, a long-time friend of my late father’s. I enjoyed our late-night jams,” Finis recalled. “My father was a true cowboy and an athlete. He had a larger-than-life personality. He has always inspired me to be the best version of myself. He always told me, ‘If you can dream those dreams, you can make them come true.’”
