The prestigious organization announced a diverse array of winners Thursday.
Congratulations to Lily Gladstone and everyone else involved with Killers of the Flower Moon, Martin Scorsese’s much-admired epic drama about the reign of terror waged against the Osage People in 1920s Oklahoma. The New York Film Critics Circle, the prestigious 88-year-old organization of film reviewers from New York-based publications dedicated to honoring excellence in U.S. and world cinema, voted Thursday to name Scorsese’s drama Best Film and Gladstone Best Actress of 2023.
The NYFCC award was the second major honor bestowed to Gladstone this week. On Monday, she received a Gotham Award for her outstanding performance in another 2023 film, The Unknown Country. During the Gotham presentation, Killers of the Flower Moon received the Gotham Historical Icon and Creator Tribute Award.

Best Director: Christopher Nolan, Oppenheimer.
Best Actor: Franz Rogowski, Passages.
Best Screenplay: May December
Best Supporting Actor: Charles Melton, May December.
Best Supporting Actress: Da’Vine Joy Randolph, The Holdovers.
Best Animated Film: The Boy and the Heron
Best Cinematography: Oppenheimer.
Best First Film: Past Lives.
Best International Film: Anatomy of a Fall
Best Nonfiction Film: Menus-Plaisirs — Les Trioisgros.
Special Award: Karen Cooper for her five decades of creative leadership as director of Film Forum.
