Why Texas entrepreneur, Elizabeth Rawlings, jumped from the corporate world to running her own business
In 2022, Elizabeth Rawlings left her corporate job on a leap of faith to commit to her career-long goal of having her own marketing business. “I didn’t want to look back one day and wonder, what if? I wanted to be the girl who was brave and went for it,” Elizabeth said.
Elizabeth’s company, Selden Solutions, offers a range of specialized marketing services including consulting, market research, and communication strategy. Some of her favorite work involves writing copy. “Marketing is so much about storytelling, and storytelling has always been one of my favorite creative pursuits.”
An avid learner, Elizabeth is completing her PhD at the University of North Texas, one of the nation’s top tier research institutions. She channels her education into her business to better support her clients. “I realized that business owners are so busy running their businesses that they don’t have the time or expertise to leverage opportunities which may really benefit them,” Elizabeth mentioned. “That’s where I see the potential to be a tremendous help. Running my own business has allowed me to focus on my strengths while supporting others in reaching their goals.”
Elizabeth grew up on horseback, competing on intercollegiate equestrian teams while attending college in Kentucky. She has lived near the Cowboy Capital of the World, Stephenville, Texas, with her husband, Nick, and their daughter, Audrey, for the past 10 years. Some of their favorite places to visit include Scottsdale, Jackson Hole, and Marfa.
If you’re in the Fort Worth area, Elizabeth would love to buy you a cup of coffee and learn more about your business. But she notes: “I’ve recently worked with clients as far away as Kentucky. Distance isn’t a problem as I’m happy to connect remotely as well.”
