Whether they be a biological parent, a family friend, or a stranger who stepped up, C&I wants to thank the brave women who raised us this Mother’s Day.
It’s tricky to put into words the incredible impact that unconditional love has on one’s life. And, for many, unconditional love takes the form of one person — the mother. When we say mother, we’re talking any and all women who have taken us under their wing and provided us with the support and compassion necessary to strive toward our dreams. As we celebrate this Mother’s Day, we look back at some of our past tributes to mothers everywhere. Plus, check out some of our favorite Mother’s Day gift picks from the C&I Shop.

Country Music Remembers Moms
“My mom has always been the one who encouraged my country music dreams and continues to be my greatest cheerleader,” says country singer Carly Pearce. Sometimes, all you need is a devoted cheerleader in your corner to feel compelled to reach for the stars. That’s how these country music stars feel about their mothers. Check out what some of our favorite country stars have to say about their mothers.

Legacies Of Our Mothers
“My mother taught me to finger weave when I was about 10,” says Sandy Fife, Mvskoke artist and fashion designer. Sandy Fife comes from a line of Muscogee women who have contributed greatly to the world of Native fashion and fine art. She and sisters Phyllis, Jimmie Carole, and Robin collaborated on an art exhibition titled Matrilineal: Legacies of Our Mothers that celebrated the legacy of their mother, Carmen Fife. On view at IAIA Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in Santa Fe until early 2023, it showcased the work of three generations of mothers and daughters and artfully paid tribute to the power of passing down your passion.

The Perfect Mother's Day Brunch
C&I editor Dana Joseph draws inspiration from the rich spirit (and hearty appetite) of her own mother to bring together a collection of recipes that will make any mother’s mouth water. Start your Mother’s Day off with some lemon ricotta pancakes and watermelon gazpacho. For a savory touch, try some cheddar cheese-chive waffles and a special mimosa or screwdriver to sweeten things up. And don’t forget about the oatmeal pie! Try these easy recipes to give your mom a Mother’s Day brunch she will never forget.
A Gift Fit For A Mother
Scrambling to get your mother something meaningful and useful? The C&I Shop has plenty of Western-inspired gifts for any budget. Granted, if you order today, it’s not going to get there in time for Mother’s Day. But do like most moms have done at some point or other: On Sunday, give her flowers and a card with a printed out page of what will be coming in the mail. It’s the love-your-mom thought that counts!
