The Country Comeback Queen stars in a holiday season movie premiering Dec. 12 on Paramount Network.
The Return of Tanya Tucker — Featuring Brandi Carlisle was widely hailed as a cinematic sensation earlier this year, as director Kathlyn Horan’s remarkable documentary about the “relaunch” of Tucker’s musical career was acclaimed by critics and embraced by audiences during its run on the festival circuit and in limited theatrical release.
And now The Country Comeback Queen is shining on screen again, this time as the star of A Nashville Country Christmas. The Yuletide-themed movie will premiere at 8 pm ET Dec. 12 on Paramount Network, with an encore airing scheduled for 11 am ET Christmas Day on CMT.
“It’s amazing that after 50 years in this business, I get to see my dreams become reality,” Tucker says. “And being part of A Nashville Country Christmas is definitely one of them. I’ve always wanted to do more acting, and it was a gift from the good Lord when this role came along. I can’t wait for everyone to enjoy the movie this season.”
What’s it all about? According to Paramount Network: “Overwhelmed by her high-powered agent, a bombastic Hollywood director, and a totally tricked-out, off-base holiday spectacular, a country music superstar bolts from her outrageous lifestyle, seeking a haven at her grandma’s Tennessee farm. Rather than refuge, she finds romance when she reconnects with her handsome ex [played by Keith Carradine], a return to her musical roots, and an unexpected family when she discovers three clever kids who’ve outsmarted the foster care system are living at the family homestead at Christmas.”
And here’s Tanya Tucker herself to tell you more.
